About Our Managing Member...
Each year, no more than 2.5% of the lawyers in the State of Texas are selected for inclusion in Texas Super Lawyers®-Rising Stars Edition, a publication of Law & Politics magazine. For the past eight consecutive years (2004-2011), Brad K. Westmoreland has been selected.
In 2009, Brad K. Westmoreland began his solo career after spending several years as a partner with a Dallas law firm. As founding and Managing Member of Westmoreland Law Firm, PLLC, Mr. Westmoreland brings to his firm a respected resume of trial, appellate, and drafting experience normally reserved for attorneys many years his senior. His litigation background includes representing both companies and individuals, plaintiffs and defendants, in a wide variety of commercial, business, and probate cases throughout the state including those involving insurance, transportation, construction, product defects, legal malpractice, and fiduciary violations to name a few. Mr. Westmoreland has tried cases to a successful outcome before every level of Texas trial court beginning with his first year of licensure. In addition he has successfully presented appeals at both the state and federal levels for individuals and businesses alike.
In addition to his successful trial practice, by representing hundreds of clients through informal and formal mediation proceedings over the past decade, Mr. Westmoreland has developed a particular expertise in evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of a case, understanding its value, and then vigorously negotiating a successful settlement for his clients.
Mr. Westmoreland has a particular passion for legal research, writing, and teaching; and in addition to his trial and appellate work he has focused a significant part of his practice on providing coverage and other legal opinions for his insurance clients. Frequently he has the opportunity to write and to teach continuing education courses for those working in the insurance and transportation industries and the attorneys interested in them---something that he greatly enjoys.
Through his extensive experiences, Mr. Westmoreland has gained the respect of his peers—and equally important, has gained the respect of his gracious clients. He attributes his success to his faith in God, a supportive and loving family, associations with talented fellow attorneys, and a genuine concern for the well-being of those he represents.
